Hallmark Press Release...

From Emmy Award ® Winner Phoef Sutton

Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Tom Cavanagh, and Wendie Malick

STUDIO CITY, CA – May 15, 2017 – Production has begun on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original “Darrow & Darrow,” starring Kimberly Williams-Paisley (“Father of the Bride”), Tom Cavanagh (“The Flash,” “Ed”) and Wendie Malick (“Hot in Cleveland,” “Just Shoot Me”). From Emmy Award ® winner Phoef Sutton, whose credits include “Boston Legal” and “Cheers,” shooting is taking place in and around Vancouver, B.C.

“Darrow & Darrow” follows the life of Claire Darrow (Williams-Paisley), an idealistic lawyer who fights for what's right, regardless of whether it makes her a dime. Kay (Malick) is her estranged mother, who suddenly reenters the picture after losing her job at a New York law firm after taking the fall for an insider trading scandal. The pair clashes on nearly everything, especially on the best way to raise Claire’s daughter, Louise (Lilah Fitzgerald), a bright 12-year-old with an older soul. Further complicating Claire’s life is Miles Strasburg (Cavanagh), the A.D.A. While he’s her adversary in the courtroom, outside of court Miles tries to make a case for taking their professional relationship to a more personal level.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Phoef Sutton, who has one of the most unique voices in television and proven track record for creating extraordinary, multilayered characters,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming and Network Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “Kimberly Williams-Paisley has been a wonderful, collaborative partner in the creative process and leads a stellar cast that includes Tom Cavanagh and Wendie Malick. We know their combined talents will bring to life a world where our viewers will enjoy spending time.”

“Darrow & Darrow” is a Brad Krevoy Television Production in Association with Axelrod-Ett Productions. Brad Krevoy, Jonathan Axelrod, Alan Ett, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Brian Wilkins, Eric Jarboe, Amy Krell, Amanda Phillips Atkins and Jimmy Townsend are executive producers. Peter DeLuise is co-executive producer. Harvey Kahn serves as producer. Michael Shepard is supervising producer. Vince Balzano is associate producer. DeLuise directs from a script by Phoef Sutton.

With sister cable television network Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is the second 24-hour linear channel under the Crown Media Family Networks umbrella. Distributed in both (HD) and standard definition (SD) in 66 million homes across the United States, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is one of the fastest growing networks in cable and a leading destination for quality, family friendly entertainment. Launched in 2008 as Hallmark Movie Channel, the network was re-branded in fall of 2014, transitioning into Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. True to its name, the channel brings the lighter side of the suspense and mystery genres into focus with rich, dramatic and thought-provoking storytelling. The network’s programming lineup features a unique mix of new, original movies, presentations from the acclaimed Hallmark Hall of Fame library and such time-honored acquired series as “Murder, She Wrote,” “Matlock,” “Hart to Hart” and “Diagnosis Murder.” The channel is also home to the annual, eight-week holiday programming event “Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas,” which helps viewers celebrate the season with new, original movies and beloved holiday classics, including “A Christmas Carol,” “Holiday Affair,” “Babes in Toyland” and “Christmas in Connecticut.”

My Take...

Hallmark is opening a new case, or rather movie, based on lawyers, and I personally think it's rather nice to see a new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie that is (I'm assuming based on plot content above!) not based upon a murder mystery.

Plus, I'm so happy to see this trio work together... Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Tom Cavanagh and Wendie Malick! They are all fantastic!

Kimberly has always had such a spark about her, an effervescent quality, just like her sister Ashley! Tom Cavanagh oozes personality in such a fun way that draws viewers to him, like a magnet! Then, there is Wendie Malick, who always portrays engaging characters, who are typically unique and fascinating!

From the cast to the storyline released above, I know I'm already intrigued and can't wait to see 'Darrow & Darrow' this fall on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!

Their two worlds collide when Alex’s ulterior motives prompt him to run against Clara for parent group president. In a surprising turn of events, Clara and Alex tie and must work together to run the group until the mandated revote. The bitter rivals struggle for power, outfoxing each other any chance they get. That is, until the matter of raising their children puts things into perspective. BIG Hallmark Movie DVD News!!! (including CHRISTMAS, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," & MORE!!!)

There are Lots More Hallmark Movies
Soon to be released on DVD!

You'll be happy to see Christmas Movies, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movies, and some movies from a few years back, too!!!

Without further adieu, here there are - with their DVD release date...

Signed, Sealed, Delivered: One in A Million - September 12, 2017
The Christmas Note - October 3, 2017

Finding Father Christmas - October 3, 2017
December Bride - October 3, 2017

Mr. Miracle - October 3, 2017
Operation Christmas - October 3, 2017

A Time to Dance - October 5, 2017
Just the Way You Are - October 17, 2017

That's EIGHT New DVD Releases! Wow! Isn't this Fantastic! A great BIG Thank You to Stephanie for sharing this news yesterday in a comment! When your message came through, I was returning from the funeral of a dear family member, my precious uncle, and your news brought a little joy to my day, so I thank you so much for that and I couldn't wait to share that same joy again today, with everyone here!

I also hope, like you, there will be even more Hallmark Christmas movie releases and, yes... once again, WHERE are the two "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" movies they skipped? "Truth be Told" & "The Impossible Dream?" We need Oliver, Shane, Norman, and Rita to solve this mystery!!! :)

FYI -- I don't have any links to click on, yet, for pre-ordering the DVDs above, but rest assured, I will post them on my page: Hallmark Movies on DVD from A to Z - when they become available through Amazon!

Also, I've previously mentioned these, but I wanted to remind you all - "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: From the Heart" is coming to DVD soon, plus "A Country Wedding", "Chesapeake Shores" (Season 1), and "Summer of Dreams."

By the way - they usually use the same Hallmark poster for the DVDs, but for "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: From the Heart," they chose different images!

Here's the difference...

(Poster on left -  DVD on right)

I like the new DVD cover for "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: From the Heart" so much better! How about you?

The eight posters pictured above are all good, EXCEPT... I would like to see more characters featured on the "A Time to Dance" DVD cover, and I would love to see "Operation Christmas" feature Marc Blucas in uniform, and Tricia Helfer in her red dress, instead of winter wear and scarves. You may also recall, "The Christmas Card," was first released on DVD with Sergeant Cody Collins in plain every day clothes, but then it was re-released and he is now featured in uniform, which is far more apropos in my opinion, relevant to the military theme in the movie.

Operation Christmas - Hallmark Crown Media

HEARTIES will surely be oh-so-thrilled to see BOTH Daniel Lissing and Erin Krakow's Hallmark CHRISTMAS MOVIES become available this upcoming Fall on DVD... "December Bride" and "Finding Father Christmas!" (This is especially wonderful for those "When Calls the Heart" fans who don't have the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel and haven't seen "Finding Father Christmas," yet!)
